Our supported living schemes are aimed at adults with varying degrees of learning disabilities, physical disabilities and complex needs.
We have supported living schemes in South Elmsall and South Kirkby, near Pontefract.
Supported living is different to a care home as the person can choose to live on their own in their own tenancy or can choose to live with a small group of friends.
Supported living aims to give the individual the opportunity to live as independently as possible with help from staff when needed.
Tenants are able to make their own choices and lead their lives in the way they want to.
Our supported living schemes are staffed 24 hours a day and staff are on hand to support with all the tenants needs and requirements.
We aim to equip our tenants with the knowledge, skills and ability to take as full a control over their lives as possible.
Tenants are supported to maintain their tenancies, support with budgeting, benefits, paying bills, shopping, liaising with the landlord, neighbours, peers and other professionals involved with the tenant if needed. Within the home we support with everyday household tasks, like cleaning the home such as washing the pots, hovering, washing and ironing and cooking.
If the tenant needs assistance with personal care, support staff can support with tasks such as dressing, bathing, shaving, washing hair, cleaning teeth and supporting with medication.
