What is live–in care?
Live in care provides the client with 1-1 care within their own home allowing them to continue to live at home in their usual environment. This can be an affordable and realistic alternative to moving into a residential care home. This can give the client greater flexibility and personalisation and allow them to continue their chosen lifestyle.
A live in carer/ companion allows the client to continue to live in their own home with care 24 hours per day. Our carers can provide as little or as much support as is needed.
We can provide live in care for any length of time, for short periods when a family member needs a holiday, similarly we can also provide live in care when the client may need temporary support through a period of convalescence or recuperation when returning from hospital to long term care.
Who can have a live in carer?
Anyone who needs support, whether the client just needs some companionship or the client has a specific care/health need.
Just Homes Care have been providing care for five years, all our packages are individual to meet the clients needs, carers support with all personal cares and help with domestic tasks such as light housework, cooking, shopping, laundry and even dog walking.
In the first instance we would visit the client before we place a carer with them. We would then complete an assessment and an individual care plan inorder to gather accurate information about the clients care needs, wishes, preferences and personal goals. At Just Homes Care it is important to us that we consider our clients needs and preferences when choosing a live in carer to ensure we place the right carer with them.
Some agencies introduce live-carers that are not directly employed by us but are employed by the client but we do not do this as we feel it can lead to problems.
The live-in carer would be employed by Just Homes Care and will have full training, and will be supervised by senior staff.
As live-in care is tailored to suit each individual and is targeted to meet specific needs the cost can vary, but for an example a 24 hour live-in carer can cost as little as £850 per week.
